The Mak'Tar believe in several gods:
Grabthar is the king of the gods. With his mighty hammer, Grabthar forged the world of Tev'Mek and all life that resides there. Grabthar is revered by the Mak'Tar as their creator and hold his hammer as a symbol of life and strength.
Warvan, the god of wisdom fell in love with a Mak'Tar woman, as legend tells. He assumed mortal form and romanced the young woman. During their engagements the woman became pregnant with two sons. The two boys grew up with the warrior spirit of the Mak'tar and the divine wisdom of their father. With this blend of intellect and savage instinct, the sons of Warvan founded the Mak'tar society we know today.
The goddess Ipthar is the protector of all who partake in battle. Some humans think she is their god of war, but they are mistaken. She does not endorse war, but she realizes they necessity of it. This is why if a loved one returns from battle their friends and family will "Thank Ipthar".
